this hour-program brings together creators, artists, and commentators to discuss ties between the two forms, upcoming projects, and shared inspirations
On Friday, March 27th, at 5:40PM, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining, a panel discussion at Emerald City Comicon in Seattle. This program looks at how comic books and Hip-Hop have grown from modest origins to achieve global impact, and how they have inspired and influenced each other in the process and influenced skate/street fashion, animation, blockbuster films, and many other aspects of popular culture.
Patrick Reed (editor of Depth Of Field Magazine) will moderate, and the panelists include:
–Mega Ran (MC, DJ, and producer extraordinaire)
–179 (graffiti/street artist, member of the Few & Far Collective)
–David Brothers (editor for Image Comics; media journalist; co-founder of 4thletter.net)
–Matthew Rosenberg (author/co-creator: Ghostface Killah’s 12 Reasons To Die and 36 Seasons)
–David Walker (author of Dynamite Comics’ Shaft series)
