FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

“Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining” panel presentation at C2E2, April 26, 5:30pm.
Fresh from acclaimed programs in Seattle and Anaheim, Depth Of Field Magazine brings together Chicago-based luminaries and nationally-recognized creators to discuss the common bonds and shared inspirations between two uniquely American cultures

On Saturday, April 26, from 5:30-6:30pm, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present Hip-Hop And Comics: Cultures Combining at C2E2, Chicago’s premier pop culture expo.  This program looks at how comic books and Hip-Hop have grown from modest origins to achieve global impact, and how they have inspired and influenced each other in the process – not just within rap music and comic books, but also through skate/street fashion, graffiti, animation, breakdancing, kung fu films, and other related expressive forms.  Depth Of Field has been presenting panels on this topic across the country over the last three years, and is thrilled to bring the conversation to the Chicago area for the first time, following hot on the heels of wildly successful presentations at WonderCon Anaheim and Emerald City Comicon in Seattle.

Patrick Reed (editor of Depth Of Field Magazine) will moderate the conversation, and panelists include Matthew Rosenberg (author/co-creator of Ghostface Killah’s “12 Reasons To Die” comic), Tyrue “Slang” Jones (the “Father Of Chicago Graffiti”, acclaimed visual artist and animator), and a number of other notables.

The panel runs one hour, and will be held in room S401cd of McCormick Place’s South Building.  C2E2 takes place from April 18-20; further information can be found at http://www.c2e2.com – for updates about this panel, follow @depthzine on twitter.
