“Comics And Pop Music” panel presentation at C2E2, Saturday, April 27th.
Depth Of Field Magazine brings together comic creators and industry professionals to discuss their work combining the worlds of music and comic books
On Saturday, April 27th, at 3:15pm, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present Comics And Pop Music, a panel discussion at C2E2 (the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo). This program follows up on Depth Of Field’s wildly successful comics/music program from last year’s C2E2, and features a selection of creators, publishers, and commentators discussing the relationship between music and comics, their shared histories and common inspirations, and the creative and commercial potential of combining the two forms.
Patrick Reed (editor of Depth Of Field Magazine) will moderate the proceedings, and participants include:
-Kieron Gillen (author/co-creator of Image Comics’ Phonogram, author of Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men, Young Avengers, Iron Man)
-Matt Pizzolo (founder, Black Mask Studios)
-Charles Soule (author/co-creator of Image Comics’ 27 and Archaia’s Strange Attractors, author of DC Comics’ Swamp Thing)
-S. Steven Struble (creator/author of Image Comics’ Li’l Depressed Boy)
-Vivek J. Tiwary (writer/creator of the upcoming The Fifth Beatle graphic novel)
-Renee Witterstaetter (author, Nick Cardy- The Artist At War; editor for Marvel, DC, Topps; president, Little Eva Ink Publishing)
-Dirk Wood (VP of Marketing for IDW Publishing)
