Later this year, Disney is releasing a new Winnie The Pooh theatrical feature, and the more I see leading up to it, the more excited I am. A new poster was released last week, and like the first two (and the preview), it hits all the right notes… And unlike earlier Disney attempts to ‘revitalize’ Pooh as a product line and franchise, there’s no updating, no new modern characters to provide ‘edgy’ appeal, just the Hundred Acre Wood, the stories of a child’s imagination, and the wonder of tiny details. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but they sure seem to have recaptured all the simplicity and innocence and charm of the A.A. Milne stories (and the original Disney cartoons), and that’s not something I ever expected to see in the twenty-first century.
The trailer can be found here, and here’s all three posters:
I can’t wait for opening night.
Winnie The Pooh is released on April 15th in Europe and the United Kingdom, and on July 15th in the US.
